Venice - Ancient Ways on the Grand Canal
Venice - Ancient Ways on the Grand Canal
My first visit to Venice was amazing - the city lived up to its reputations with scenes to shoot at almost every turn of foot or propeller. I did leave with a favourite location / viewpoint from this trip - in part because it is simply classic Venice and also because it was so close to where I was staying so saw it a lot at different times of day - the view East from Academia Bridge. This shot looks like it could have been taken at any time over the last 500 years; in the early morning a warm, almost dusty light is cast over the GRand Canal and Santa Maria with a lone gondola crossing the canal. Timeless.
As well as the panoramic version I print this in a 3:2 version which is also shown.
