This beech, sitting in a small clearing, is more exposed to the elements and therefore has turned before those surrounding it. There is little to rival the colours given by beech woodlands in the Autumn. A slight morning mist helps this tree to further stand out and adds to the colour contrast of the trees warmer foliage compared to the cooler greens that remain behind.
